From the 1st April 2006, all buildings with a gross floor area of 500sqm and above now require a mandatory air permeability test.  In most cases, non-domestic buildings below this size will also require an air permeability test.  For dwellings, a representative sample of all dwellings must be tested.  A thermal survey can identify areas of heat loss or air leakage
